What is a Consultation?
A consultation is conducted online via video chat and gives us time to discuss your dog, your goals, and what you want training to look like in real life. During this session, we’ll review your dog’s history, daily routine, current skills, and any behavior concerns. From there, we’ll outline a clear plan and determine which services—private lessons, virtual coaching, or online courses—will best support you and your dog.
I’m not local. Can I still train with Fulton Strong K9?
Yes. Many of our clients work with us remotely.
You can train with FSK9 through:
Online Courses – Structured, self-paced programs designed to teach dog owners and handlers how to train effectively at home.
Virtual Lessons – One-on-one video sessions for individualized coaching and behavior guidance.
Private Lesson Weekends – In-person owner-focused training intensives designed to teach you how to continue training confidently once you return home.
Seminars & Workshops – Educational events hosted throughout the year (listed on the website).
Our services are designed to support owners regardless of location.
How effective are Online Lessons and Courses?
Online training can be extremely effective when owners are committed to following through. My training approach is built around clear instruction, consistency, and handler education, which is why online formats work well for motivated owners.
Online courses provide structured instruction you can revisit at your own pace, while virtual lessons allow for personalized feedback and coaching. Success depends on your ability to apply what you learn—but you won’t be left guessing. I focus on making training plans clear, practical, and realistic for everyday life.
What training methods do you use?
Our training methods are bond-based, humane, and evidence-informed. We assess the function of behaviors to understand why they are happening, then use principles of learning and operant conditioning to shape or change behavior in a thoughtful way.
There are no quick fixes or band-aid solutions here. Training is about building clear communication, consistency, and trust. You cannot outsource the bond with your dog—my role is to coach you, guide you, and help you develop the skills your dog needs from you.
Do you provide equipment?
Equipment recommendations are made on an individual basis depending on your dog, goals, and experience level. Any tools discussed are intended to support clear communication and safe handling, and proper use is always taught and explained.
Do you offer seminars or workshops?
Yes. Educational seminars and workshops are offered throughout the year and are posted on the website as they become available. These events are designed for dog owners, handlers, and trainers who want to deepen their understanding of training and behavior.
What are your health and vaccine requirements?
For in-person lessons or events, dogs must:
Be in good health
Have current vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper, and Parvovirus
Provide vaccination records from a licensed veterinarian
Dogs that are sick, injured, pregnant, or in heat are not accepted for in-person training services.
What is your refund policy?
All training services, lessons, and courses are non-refundable. Training time may be applied toward equivalent services when appropriate. This policy reflects the time, planning, and educational materials involved in each program.

Who This Training Is Not For
This training may not be the right fit if you:
Are looking for a quick fix or overnight results
Want someone to train your dog without your involvement
Are unwilling to practice, apply feedback, or adjust daily routines
Prefer punishment-only, harsh, or trend-based methods
Are not open to learning or changing your own handling habits
We believe training is a partnership. You cannot outsource the bond with your dog—but you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Online Courses – FAQ
Who are the online courses for?
These courses are for dog owners and handlers who want structured, science-based guidance and are willing to actively participate in their dog’s training. They are especially helpful for owners of high-drive dogs, working or sport dogs, and motivated pet owners who want reliable, real-world results.
Are the courses right for beginner dog owners?
Yes. Courses are designed to be clear, step-by-step, and easy to follow, even if you’re new to training. More advanced handlers will also benefit from the structured systems and deeper understanding of behavior and handling.
What topics do the online courses cover?
Courses focus on foundational obedience, behavior clarity, handler skills, structure and predictability, managing common behavior challenges, and building reliability in real-life environments. Specific course topics are listed on each individual course page.
How are the courses structured?
Courses are broken into short lessons with video instruction and practical exercises. You can move through the material at your own pace and revisit lessons as often as needed.
How long do I have access to the course?
Access length is listed on each course page. Most courses provide extended or lifetime access so you can review material as your dog progresses.
Will these courses fix my dog’s behavior?
Online courses provide the tools, education, and structure needed to create change, but results depend on your follow-through and consistency. Training is a process, not a quick fix. Owners who practice and apply the material see the best results.
Can online courses replace private lessons?
For many owners, yes. However, some dogs and situations benefit from additional one-on-one support. Online courses can be used alone or paired with private lessons or virtual coaching.
What if I need individual help?
Virtual lessons are available for owners who want personalized guidance alongside the course material. This option is recommended for complex behavior cases or handlers who want extra feedback.
Are refunds available?
Due to the nature of digital products, online courses are non-refundable. Please review course descriptions carefully before purchasing.
What if I’m short on time?
Lessons are designed to fit into real life. Even short, consistent training sessions can lead to meaningful progress when the material is applied correctly.
How do I know which course to start with?
If you’re unsure where to begin, start with a foundational course or schedule a virtual consultation to help determine the best fit for you and your dog.
Private Lessons – FAQ
Who are private lessons for?
Private lessons are for dog owners who want personalized guidance and hands-on coaching. They’re ideal for owners who want to learn how to train their dog, address specific behavior concerns, or build reliable skills in real-world environments.
What can I work on during private lessons?
Private lessons can address obedience, leash skills, reactivity, anxiety, impulse control, confidence building, and general manners. Lessons are customized to your dog’s needs and your goals.
Where do private lessons take place?
Private lessons take place on-site and, when appropriate, in public environments to help dogs and handlers work through real-life distractions. Locations are selected based on your dog’s training goals.
How long is a private lesson?
Lessons are typically 60 minutes. This allows time for instruction, hands-on practice, and discussion so you leave with a clear plan to work on between sessions.
How many lessons will my dog need?
Every dog and owner is different. Some clients need only a few sessions to get started, while others benefit from ongoing lessons. Progress depends on consistency, follow-through, and practicing between sessions.
Will you train my dog for me?
Private lessons are owner-focused. I will demonstrate techniques and coach you through the process, but lasting results come from your involvement. Training works best when you’re actively engaged.
Do I need prior training experience?
No. Lessons are designed to meet you where you are. Whether you’re new to training or have experience, instruction is clear, structured, and easy to understand.
What methods do you use?
Training is humane, evidence-informed, and focused on clear communication and trust. I assess why behaviors are occurring and help you change them through structured, ethical training methods—not quick fixes.
What should I bring to a lesson?
You’ll receive guidance before your first session on equipment and preparation. Comfortable shoes, appropriate training treats, and a willingness to practice are helpful.
Can private lessons be combined with online courses?
Yes. Many clients use online courses alongside private lessons to reinforce learning and stay consistent between sessions.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Private lessons are non-refundable. Please provide advance notice if you need to reschedule. Missed sessions without notice may be forfeited.
How do I get started?
