What to Bring to Training

To ensure productive, safe, and efficient training sessions, please review the information below before arriving for your lesson.

Required Training Equipment

Please bring the following items to every session, unless otherwise instructed:

  • Flat collar or properly fitted training collar

  • Standard leash (6–8 ft)

  • Long line/check cord (15–30 ft) if you have one

  • High-value food rewards

  • Water for your dog

  • Weather-appropriate gear for you and your dog

Specialized equipment (birds, blanks, training setups) will be provided as part of applicable programs.

Optional but Helpful

  • Place cot or elevated bed (if your dog already knows place)

  • Kennel or crate for vehicle or downtime

  • Towel (especially for water or muddy field work)

  • Notebook or phone for taking notes

Arrival & Parking Instructions (Important)

🚫 Please do NOT park or turn into the main driveway.

✔️ Drive past the driveway

✔️ Continue forward until you reach the double gates

✔️ Enter through the gates and proceed into the training field area

This helps maintain smooth traffic flow and keeps the property organized for training days. If you are unsure, continue forward until you clearly see the field access point.

Facilities

  • A portable restroom (port-a-potty) is available on site for client use.

  • Please plan accordingly for longer sessions and field work.

Dining & Food Options (Outdoor Seating Friendly)

If you’re traveling in or planning to grab food before or after training, we recommend choosing outdoor or dog-friendly dining options nearby. Many local restaurants in the area offer patio seating suitable for handlers traveling with dogs.

(Availability and policies may vary—please confirm directly with the restaurant.)

Hunting & Outdoor Stores Nearby

For clients looking to visit a local hunting or outdoor supply shop while in the area, a nearby option includes:

  • Mallards Gun Range
A newer local facility offering shooting sports and hunting-related equipment.

General Notes

  • Dogs should arrive properly exercised and ready to work, but not exhausted.

  • Please arrive on time to make full use of your scheduled session.

  • If weather conditions require adjustments, we will communicate ahead of time.
