About Alicia | Fulton Strong Canine Behavior Services
I’m Alicia, the owner and lead trainer at Fulton Strong Canine Behavior Services. My passion is helping dogs and their handlers build clear communication, trust, and real-world reliability that actually holds up outside of training sessions.
I’ve spent over a decade working hands-on with dogs of many temperaments and backgrounds—from high-drive working dogs to family companions struggling with behavior challenges. My training style blends structure with compassion, always tailored to the individual dog and the person handling them. I believe training should feel understandable, fair, and achievable for both ends of the leash.
My work is grounded in behavioral science. I hold a master’s degree with advanced training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)—the science of learning and behavior—and I am currently completing my PhD. My doctoral research focuses on treatment integrity, or how well training plans are actually followed by owners, and how clear, well-designed instruction—especially computer-based and online education—can dramatically improve follow-through and long-term results. This directly shapes how I design my lessons, programs, and online courses for dog owners and handlers.
As a professional K9 trainer, I am a Certified Professional Master K9 Trainer and am mentored by nationally recognized trainer Mike Ritland. I live and train on a five-acre ranch in Homosassa, Florida, where I work daily with pet dogs, working dogs, and dogs needing behavior rehabilitation. While I have extensive experience with high-drive and working breeds, my approach is always individualized and practical for your real life.
What truly sets my work apart is my focus on teaching handlers—not just training dogs. I specialize in breaking training down into clear, manageable steps so owners understand what to do, why it works, and how to apply it consistently. Whether you’re dealing with leash pulling, reactivity, anxiety, or simply want a well-mannered companion, my goal is to help you feel confident and capable handling your dog in everyday situations.
Our Philosophy
At Fulton Strong Canine Behavior Services, I believe great training starts with education, clarity, and trust. My goal isn’t just short-term improvement—it’s giving you the skills and understanding to maintain progress long after training ends. I take the time to explain the why behind the training so you’re never guessing, second-guessing, or relying on quick fixes.
When owners understand behavior and feel supported, dogs succeed.
Thank you for trusting Fulton Strong Canine Behavior Services. I look forward to helping you and your dog build a strong, lasting foundation together.
