High-Drive Retrieval Program: Control, Mechanics & Clarity
High-Drive Retrieval Program: Control, Mechanics & Clarity
4-Session Private Lesson Package
Price: $1,200
This program is designed for high-drive working dogs that already have strong motivation for toys or objects but need clear structure, mechanics, and control in their retrieve work. This is not a casual fetch program. It is a structured retrieval system that teaches both dog and handler how to build reliable, purposeful retrieves without creating chaos, conflict, or obsession.
Each session is 1 hour and focused on handler skill, timing, and mechanics.
What We’ll Work On
This program focuses on how retrieval is taught and maintained, not just getting the dog to bring something back.
Retrieval Foundations (High-Drive Appropriate)
Building clarity around the retrieve picture
Preventing frantic or uncontrolled behavior
Teaching the dog when to engage and when to disengage
Mechanics & Structure
Proper presentation and delivery of the object
Clean pick-up and return
Preventing circling, fly-bys, or avoidance
Teaching a calm, controlled out without conflict
Drive Management
Using retrieval to build control, not escalate arousal
Balancing speed with thinking
Avoiding obsessive or compulsive patterns
Handler Skills
Reward timing and placement
Marker use during retrieve work
Body position, movement, and leash management
Reading when to push and when to stop
Proofing & Progression
Environmental distractions
Transitioning from leash to long line when appropriate
Setting the dog up for future sport, work, or advanced control programs
This program creates a retrieve that is purposeful, clean, and sustainable.
