Board & Train

Maintenance Intensive Weekend

(Post-Program Continuation Training)

⚠️ This program is ONLY available to dogs who have successfully completed a Fulton Strong K9 Board & Train program.

This is not open enrollment and is not a substitute for initial training.

Designed for pet dogs and high-drive dogs, this intensive ensures that training does not fade, handling skills remain sharp, and progress continues long-term.

Why Maintenance Training Matters

A Board & Train program builds the foundation — maintenance preserves it.

Without structured follow-up, even well-trained dogs can experience:

  • Skill erosion

  • Inconsistent handling

  • Boundary drift

  • Reduced reliability in real-world settings

Training is not a one-time event.

It is a lifelong commitment between the dog and handler.

First Maintenance Intensive (6–12 Months Post Board & Train)

This 2-day weekend intensive is the recommended first maintenance checkpoint following a Board & Train program.

Timing:

✔️ 6–12 months after program completion

✔️ Earlier or later scheduling may be approved on a case-by-case basis

Program Structure

Duration: 2 days

Format: Saturday & Sunday (Intensive Weekend)

Training Type: Owner + Dog working together

Audience: Pet dogs & high-drive dogs that have completed Board & Train

Day 1 – Skill Audit & Recalibration

  • Full obedience and behavior assessment

  • Evaluation of reliability under distraction

  • Review of handling mechanics & leash skills

  • Identification of weak points or regression

  • Structured drills to tighten clarity and consistency

  • Resetting expectations for both dog and handler

Day 2 – Real-World Application & Proofing

  • Environmental challenges & controlled distractions

  • Duration, distance, and impulse control work

  • Owner coaching for timing, pressure, and reinforcement

  • Lifestyle-specific applications (home, public, work environments)

  • Clear plan for continued maintenance over the next year

Long-Term Maintenance Recommendation

After the first maintenance intensive, yearly maintenance training is strongly recommended.

This may include:

  • Annual Maintenance Intensive Weekends

  • Periodic private tune-up sessions

  • Continued structured work at home

Dogs change. Owners change. Environments change.

Training must evolve with them.
