Proper preparation helps ensure your dog’s health, comfort, and training success while in our care. Please review this section carefully before drop-off.

REQUIRED: What to Bring

Please bring all items listed below at drop-off:

Documentation

  • Medical records

  • Signed contracts (if not already submitted electronically)

  • List of commands your dog currently knows (include the language used)

Food & Nutrition

  • Enough food for your dog’s entire stay
    ⚠️ Please pack more food than your dog normally eats at home.
    Dogs often burn more calories during training and may require increased intake.

  • Supplements (clearly labeled)

  • Medications (clearly labeled with dosing instructions)

⚠️ Do not change your dog’s diet within 30 days of drop-off.

Maintaining the same food and feeding routine helps reduce the risk of gastrointestinal upset during the transition.

Equipment & Gear

  • Currently used equipment or training gear

  • Your dog’s favorite rewards (food or toys)

  • A Ruffland or Gunner kennel ONLY

For safety, sanitation, and consistency reasons, the following items are not permitted:

Crates & Containment

  • ❌ Wire crates

  • ❌ Impact crates

Training Equipment

  • ❌ Head halters

  • ❌ Harnesses (unless specifically instructed for high-drive work)

Comfort & Personal Items

  • ❌ Bedding, blankets, or beds

  • ❌ Bowls or water buckets

  • ❌ Sentimental items

  • ❌ Stuffed animals

Chews & Extras

  • ❌ Rawhides

  • ❌ Extra clothing or accessories

Food Restrictions

  • ❌ Food that requires cooking or preparation

  • ❌ Home-cooked recipes

✔️ Raw food is acceptable only if it arrives frozen

✔️ Cooked or custom-prepared diets will not be accepted

Health & Veterinary Requirements

Vaccinations (Required)

Dogs must be up to date (UTD) on the following core vaccines:

  • Rabies

  • DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis/Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenzas

  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

Parasite Prevention

  • Dogs must be on current flea and tick prevention at the time of drop-off.

Fecal Testing

  • A negative fecal test from a veterinarian is required within 14 days prior to drop-off.

Illness & Rescheduling

If your dog becomes ill prior to drop-off:

  • Drop-off may be rescheduled if necessary

  • A veterinary note is required for rescheduling due to illness

This policy helps protect the health of all dogs on site.

Final Reminders

  • Please pack more food than usual to account for increased activity

  • Keep feeding routines consistent prior to arrival

  • Ensure all medical and prevention requirements are current

  • Proper preparation helps your dog transition smoothly and safely
